Car that runs on air!

by on 2010/10/10

Crossposted at agonist.org The title says it. A non-polluting, inexpensive car. But not for sale here. That would upset Big Oil and BushCo.

All of you talking about how this is useless because the compressor uses gas.. It uses ALOT less gas than driving 200km!

Hydrogens the way to go

pmsteamrailroading December 9, 2009 at 10:56 AM

So wait a minute. The air is compressed in a compressor that runs off the exhaust from the car, and that will make enough to to run the car.
So what about the energy lost through friction, in the bearing, from the tires, from air resistance?
Any time someone says “perpetual motion”, you know thay are giving you a line of crap.

I hate it when scamming arsewipes who have been taking money from suckers since the 1990′s ($13Million), have never had any vehicle independently tested and their only published test result was 7.2km at bicycling speed get posted as a youtube video by technically illiterate happy clappies

“Too good to be true” = “technology exists already but is surpressed by oil companies”

UNSYPHILISED December 9, 2009 at 1:25 PM

I hate when people say “too good to be true”

coleo78 December 9, 2009 at 1:40 PM

theres also a guy whos developed ultra light carbon frames which are stronger then steel the only problem is pruducing the frames which he is working on now i think these 2 technologies would be revolutionary

This report from the BBC is interesting. CNN says the car will be built in each country it is sold. But this report from the BBC says that the company has an Indian backer and will be built solely in India. So who is telling the truth? In the CNN report there were a bunch of Japanese getting ready to build the car in Japan for the Japanese market!

Forget the oil/gas companies, we need this now. Who cares what it looks like. But since there are alot of people who do care what they look like. Remake old cars like chevy’s and etc. So people can ride the same as they do now just eco-friendly. & Sale it for like 100 dollars.

horsycos88 December 9, 2009 at 6:35 PM

cool idea but the car is too ugly.

hobbes72599 December 9, 2009 at 6:51 PM

Air compressors run on electricity too, you won’t have a gas tank anymore. They’re also developing the air compressor in the car to charge itself with the air it takes in, so that you will never have to fill anything up at all, and therefore not have to use electricity either.

pmac132 December 9, 2009 at 7:50 PM

no like when you fill up with the air. the thing you put in the gas tank. You know an air compresor runs on gas

sedrol December 9, 2009 at 7:54 PM

No, the air IS the gas. Given that the electricity is from an environmentaly sound source the process is totally free from any form of polution. The exeption being, of course, the production stage of both the car and the compressor. As far as I know, that stage of the automobile industry has, surprisingly, always been the most polutive… It’s been said that you can never run a car far enough to even come close to the polution that has been let out during production.

pmac132 December 9, 2009 at 8:10 PM

yea but dont you have to put gas in the air compresers

dawgzL0r December 9, 2009 at 8:27 PM

me too. Interesting though

lolfag93 December 9, 2009 at 8:47 PM

:O where’s the catch?

samthejokerman December 9, 2009 at 9:33 PM

just wait until you are near a free air compression thing and then it cost NOTHING! unles you do wit is max 1.50 lolz

Bromangg December 9, 2009 at 10:32 PM

global warming effects are much greater than simply making it a bit hotter outside. good job on an argument though….
